Here’s all we know about today’s saint, Deusdedit: he was a common laborer and he shared all he had with those who had less. What could better represent the spirit of Jesus?
I present the ENTIRE entry written by Butler about Deusdedit here:
He was a poor labouring man, who sanctified all his actions by assiduous prayer and penance. He distributed among the poor every Saturday all he could save from what he earned in the week.
The name, Deusdedit, means “God has given” and this saint’s approach seems to quite basic–God gives us, and from what we receive, we give to others whose needs are even greater than our own.
